Burundi is on Lake Tanganyika 800 m above sea level, the world's longest 600 km and deepest of Africa 1400 m, it contains a fifth of the freshwater resources of the planet.

From the coast of Lake Tanganyika, the deepest in Africa, the landscape is made up of rocky ridges, gorges with waterfalls and fertile valleys. For animal lovers, the primary forest of the North West is a haven for primates, the Ruzizi Delta is an oasis of calm, the northern lakes are a haven for birds.

Burundi has a cultural heritage that includes not only traditional music and dance but also the famous drummers of Gitega, known throughout the world.
