Practical Info

Best Seasons

Generally, drier months (Jun–Oct & Dec–Feb) offer easier wildlife viewing and trekking. The Great Migration typically moves within Serengeti/Mara on a seasonal circuit; timing varies by rains.

Visas & Permits

Check each country’s visa rules. A joint tourist visa is available for Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda. Gorilla/chimp permits are limited, book well ahead in Rwanda, Uganda, and DRC.

Responsible Travel

Keep a respectful distance from wildlife, follow your guide’s instructions, and support local communities by hiring certified operators, buying local crafts, and choosing eco-lodges.

Health & Safety

Consult a travel clinic for vaccines/antimalarials. For parts of East DRC, always verify current security advisories and park access updates before finalizing travel.
